Organic Agriculture

Organic agriculture is a system of cultivation that not only excludes the use of fertilizers, pesticides and nitrates in favour of organic fertilizers but also defends the land by using compost. In the past, farmers used "traditional" techniques which were both effective and productive and did not need any kind of chemical products whatsoever; nowadays the farmer represents the expression of a vision of the world.

Unfortunately industrial agriculture is governed by profit motivation; it's an agriculture of quantity, it wants mass production at all costs and tends to standardize products. Whereas organic agriculture relies on organic and natural sources and not on the mechanical or artificial, wanting to combine quantity with quality and promote the health of the environment and the consumer. Organic agriculture points to preservation and increasing biodiversity; it wants the farmer to be in charge again of his own land and work. Organic agriculture assures the preservation of the soil's fertility and it does not pollute the environment with chemical and technological excesses. Instead it produces fruit and vegetables following the seasons' cycle, it preserves and increases biodiversity and most especially promotes safety food.
